Carla Lockhart MP • April 23, 2024

Carla Lockhart, Member of Parliament for Upper Bann, recently attended a Civic Reception celebrating the 100th anniversary of Portadown College. The reception, hosted by Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Lord Mayor Margaret Tinsley brought together pupils, teachers, principals and governors past and present to mark the historic milestone. Established in 1924, Portadown College has been a cornerstone of education in Northern Ireland, providing generations of students with the knowledge and skills necessary to reach their potential.

The DUP MP commented, "Portadown College's centenary is a monumental milestone. This institution has nurtured thousands of young minds and has been a beacon of academic excellence as well as playing an important part in the Portadown community. I am incredibly proud of how Portadown College has passionately and consistently delivered excellent education and nurtured the potential of their pupils for a full century."

"As we look back on a hundred years of outstanding contributions to education, it is also a time to look forward to the future," added the Upper Bann MP. "I am excited about the next chapters in Portadown College's history as the school continues to pursue excellence for generations of children and young people to come. Congratulations to everyone at Portadown College and best wishes for the future."
