Birches playpark takes next step to reality

Carla Lockhart MP • August 23, 2022

Local MP Carla Lockhart has welcomed submission of a planning application for a new play park at Robinstown in the Birches area. The application was submitted following consultation and approval from the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

Commenting, Carla Lockhart said:

“With a planning application now submitted, this long standing project has reached another milestone to becoming a reality.

Alongside my DUP colleagues on Council I have been working on this proposal for some time. The children and young people of the Birches area deserve a state of the art play park. For too long there just hasn’t been adequate provision in this area for young people to play in a safe place.

I am hopeful that the planning process will be relatively straight forward and therefore no unexpected delays should ensue. After this has been concluded, Council will produce a schedule of works and the next step will be groundworks commence.

This is a good news story for the Birches and I know when the park is in place it will be a great asset to the local area.”
