Community Spirit Shines at Scarva Street Presbyterian Church and Bickerstaff Family Coffee Mornings
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has praised the strong sense of community across Upper Bann after attending two local coffee mornings, one hosted by the Scarva Street Presbyterian Church Girls’ Brigade and another organised by the Bickerstaff family in aid of Charis Cancer Care.

Speaking after visiting both events, Carla Lockhart MP said:
“It was such a pleasure to spend time with the Scarva Street Presbyterian Church Girls’ Brigade at their coffee morning. The event was beautifully organised, the hospitality was second to none, and there was a real atmosphere of friendship and fellowship. The Girls’ Brigade continues to be such a positive influence on young people, helping them grow in faith, confidence, and community spirit.”
“I was also delighted to stop by the Bickerstaff family’s coffee morning in aid of Charis Cancer Care. The turnout was fantastic and showed just how much support there is for this wonderful charity. Charis provides vital help to people living with cancer and their families, offering comfort, counselling, and care when it’s needed most. I want to commend the Bickerstaff family and everyone who contributed to this important cause.”
“Events like these are the heartbeat of Upper Bann. They remind us what truly matters, people coming together to help others, to build connections, and to strengthen our community. I’m always so encouraged by the generosity and compassion that exists right across our constituency.”
Carla Lockhart said she would continue to support and champion local groups and fundraising events that make a real difference in people’s lives.
