Banbridge Community Paints the Town Pink for Action Cancer Awareness Weekend
Carla Lockhart MP for Upper Bann, has commended the Banbridge community for embracing once again the Paint the Town Pink weekend aimed at helping raising vital awareness and funds for Action Cancer.

Speaking following her visit to the town she said, “As the local MP, it has been a privilege to support this fantastic initiative over the years, and I was thrilled to be out in the town on both Friday and Saturday to witness the incredible community spirit firsthand.
The atmosphere in Banbridge was one of positivity, with local businesses and residents alike embracing this worthy cause. It was heartening to see our streets lined with pink decorations and so many people participating, all united in the fight against breast cancer. Over 55,000 are diagnosed with breast cancer every year across the UK with it being one of the most common cancers accounting for almost 15% of all new cancer diagnosis.
A special thanks must go to the remarkable committee who organise this event year after year. Their dedication and hard work have made Painting the Town Pink a lasting success in Banbridge, raising significant funds for Action Cancer. The commitment of this small but mighty team is truly inspirational, and their efforts are making a real impact on raising awareness of breast cancer in our area.
My thoughts are with all those currently facing the challenges of cancer. Your courage and resilience inspire us to continue pushing for better support, research, and treatments. This event is a testament to the strength of our community and our shared commitment to tackling this disease.
Together, Banbridge continues to show that we stand with those affected by breast cancer, and I am incredibly proud of the role our town plays in this vital cause.”
