Almac’s £11M Investment a Major Boost for Craigavon and Northern Ireland’s Life Sciences Sector

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has welcomed the announcement that the Almac Group is set to invest a further £11 million into expanding its global analytical services. The investment, while aimed at Almac’s global operations, will directly benefit the company’s headquarters in Craigavon, solidifying its role as a driving force in Northern Ireland’s thriving life sciences sector.

Speaking on the announcement, Carla Lockhart MP praised Almac for its continued commitment to the local area and highlighted the significance of this investment.


“I am absolutely delighted to see Almac Group make this substantial £11 million investment to expand their global analytical services. What’s even more encouraging is that their Craigavon HQ will be a key beneficiary of this expansion. This is a testament to the exceptional work happening right here in Upper Bann, reinforcing Northern Ireland’s growing reputation as a world leader in life sciences.”


The investment is expected to create new opportunities for job creation with an estimated 100 more jobs being made available, innovation, and economic growth, both locally and globally. Almac’s Craigavon base already employs over 3,000 people, with the company’s global workforce exceeding 7,000.
