Adam’s legacy lives on - Lockhart

Carla Lockhart MP • August 8, 2023

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart joined with hundreds of “Adams Army” volunteers at Craigavon Lakes this weekend to take part in the 24 hour walk challenge, for B Positive.

Speaking at the event, Carla said:

“it is hard to believe it is a year since little Adam passed away.

In his short life, in which he encountered so many difficult days and challenges amongst many happy times, he made a huge impression on so many people in his positive fight against cancer. Whilst Adam is no longer with us physically, his legacy lives on so strongly in this community. Todays attendance is testament to just how much he meant to so many people.

I want to commend Adam’s parents, David and Sara. No parent should ever have to bury their child, but in the midst of grief they have found incredible strength and have poured their energy into campaigning for others who face the same battle they fought with Adam. It has been a privilege to help them in some of this work, and I am hopeful we can change hearts and minds to ensure Adam leaves a long lasting legacy that helps the lives of others.

This was a wonderful event, a poignant event, and it is a reflection on the community that so many turned out to support the Watsons and raise funds for B Positive. Adam, our shining light, still shines bright in our hearts.”
